Liverpool Friday

Dear Henry

By last night Mr & Mrs Martin got the melancholy intelligence of poor Jame's death which took place at Lochryan(?) in Scotland on Monday night last - We started by Steamer immediately and are so far on the journey - Mrs Martin is afraid that he may be interred before she reaches the place where his death occurred If such is the case his body can be disinterred & removed at a future time to the family burying ground - if it is thought requisite(?) by his relation - I am so hurried(?) I cannot enter further into particulars Mail(?) your letter as usual to 5 Victoria Terrace - Mrs M-is greatly to be pitied - James Martin Junr is with us -

With kind regards

Very truly yours

James Greer
